Iowa, Red Lights, Bailouts, Mike Anderson, Wine

4/1/2009

Welcome back to the randomness!

These are just some of the things keeping me sane while trying to understand the ways of wireless Internet.

I’ve officially become a wine-o! A few years back I had the pleasure of attending a charity wine tasting benefit as a “so called” celebrity guest. That night my wine introductions were bottles that ranged from 500 to 2000 dollars in value. In other words, it’d be like your first vacation being to Paris, France. The host at my table was an older man who took great interest in my lack of knowledge on wine, and began revealing all of his expertise on the subject. He gave me several tips and advice on building my own collection of favorites, both casual and those on the higher end. My finances haven’t allowed me to pursue the idea as much as my aspirations so choose, but Catherine and I have slowly begun to find those we enjoy tasting together, and then comparing new ones to our favorites.

I watched Dirty Dancing the other night and couldn’t help but wonder if Chuck Wicks was somewhere in California watching it as well.

The happiness I feel in my head and heart due to Mike Anderson signing a 7-year extension with my Missouri Tigers is indescribable.

I’m writing with Scooter Carusoe tomorrow and he better bring the thunder.

To all of those playing “Red Light”, I thank you all so very much.

I had the chance to play Des Moines, Iowa two weeks ago, and to say that was a blast would be like saying Nike has the tennis shoe market covered. To Andy Elliot and both stations, thank you so much for all the time you gave us both live on-air, and on stage. You deserve a handsome raise.

I don’t know what to think about Gavin Degraw’s new record. At times I love it, and other times I wonder how many drugs he’s taking.

It says I have three bars of wireless connection, and yet I can’t connect! To say this is annoying would be like saying I’m random.

I went to Ryan Adams “supposed” last show ever in Nashville a few weeks back and cried more than twice. It was my first, so if it truly was his last, that’s pretty cool.

I had sushi tonight with Catherine and I think we might be slowly gaining on Keith and Nicole. We got seated quickly at the bar in front of the men who prepare the sushi. Catherine thinks it’s because we go there so much, but I know it’s because this particular guy has a little crush on Catherine. Keith and Nicole have been there twice, when we were there, and they simply show up and immediately sit down without waiting a single minute. We’re not quite to that level, but I’m gaining on you boss…

I hope Myspace isn’t dying a slow death.

I’m going to tell the entire Iowa show story in my next blog that will most likely be written on the flight to Las Vegas Friday for the ACM Awards.

Go North Carolina! I will surely shed a tear if you win it Tyler.

I have several friends with connections, some small and some large, but my friend Jocelyn working for Loews hotels is my favorite. Jocelyn you are the best, and I sincerely hope you can show up in June, and bring Pete Sampras Jr.!!

I miss my future in-laws. I got lucky!!!

I miss Kennett, Missouri and all my family and friends. I miss fishing this time of year with one of my best men Matt Bodkin and frying them that night for dinner. I miss talking basketball with another best man Chris Sledge.

I miss my future wife’s friends. They’re all so different and fun. I’m really excited to get married this summer. I got really lucky.

Okay here we go!!!

When’s the David Nail bailout coming? Who do I have to ask for that? How about the bailout for the guy who taught school for crap pay for 31 one years? Complete and utter crap that these millionaires get bailed out while us poor and middle class scram for our tiny savings accounts!!!

I cannot get the temperature right to save my life in my house.

I’m glad that Catherine seems to be making one or two really good friends here in Nashville.

I hate it that my best friend broke 3 bones in his face this past week while at work…

If I could do anything in the world, it’d be hanging out with my favorite people around a fire pit talking about the 2009 NFL Draft!

Catherine is driving a rental this week, and it’s a Toyota Camry! Very motherly if I say so myself!

I was in my buddy Keith Kaufman’s radio station the other morning and Gerry House was on-air somewhere in the building and I didn’t have the courage to go seek him out in person to thank him for all the kind words he’s said on my behalf. Maybe in Vegas I suppose!

Joe’s Bar in Chicago has the best party the entire ACM Week!!!

It’s bedtime, more tomorrow I swear!!!

Wednesday morning!!!

What are the chances that Coach Cal is watching the horse’s race this weekend?

I hate the women’s basketball coach at the University of Connecticut!

It looks absolutely beautiful outside my window here in Nashville this morning, too bad I’m going to spend it washing underwear and soaks…

I wonder how sick to the stomach Denver Broncos fans are this morning? I’m sorry, but that coach of yours is an idiot…

It’s almost baseball season, and that has me smiling…

I need coffee quick, and Internet even more!

I’m about to head up to Panera Bread Company for coffee and maybe a breakfast sandwich!

This is an abrupt end to my writing. I will post a new blow after my ACM Vegas trip!!!

Red Light Red Light
