7 Questions with David Nail

David Nail found his way to country music down a winding path that took him through sports and baseball before he found his niche in Nashville. His single "Red Light" off of his debut album, I'm About To Come Alive, has garnered an Academy of Country Music nomination for Single Record of the Year. That's quite an accomplishment for the Missouri-born Nail, who once considered baseball as a career. CW chatted up the singer/songwriter to learn a few things about relieving stress and mending broken hearts.

1. What's your advice for mending a broken heart?

Time. And good, close friends.

2. What is your favorite Elton John song?
Wow-that's is a tough one/ I would say either "Daniel" or "Burn Down the Mission" from the  (1970) Tumnleweed Connection album, his mist unsuccessful record.

3. What's the last thing you bought on eBay?
     A pair of snakeskin boots.

4. What is one thing you are always sure to pack when you head out on the road?
Plenty of clean underwear. I still have yet to master the perfect pack and any time I change clothes, I have to be "fresh" from the ground up!

5. In your opinion, what would you say is the worst invention?
I think every invention is great, but I still hve yet to quite understand the purpose of the Snuggie. It sounds like point-blank laziness to me. You can't manage to find a blanket  to wrap around  you? You need to put it on like a piece of clothing? It makes no since to me.

6. What's your favorite reality show?
To be honest, I have a hard time believing that there is, in fact, a legitimate reality show. It all seems a little scripted to me. I do try to keep my wife happy, so when I'm home, I take one for the team and watch The Bachelor. I also love Man vs. Food [on the Travel Channel].

7. What do you do to relieve stress?
I'm still trying to figure that out! I got suckered at Bed, Bath &Beyond the other day and bought $60 of stress relief candles! I do love to watch sports and kinda get lost in that, but I don't really have too musch stress at the moment.
